Ryuji Yamakawa vs. Katsumi Usuda - BJW vs. Battlearts (1998)

When Battlearts own, Katsumi Usuda took on Big Japan Pro Wrestling deathmatcher, Ryuji Yamakawa in a special BJW versus Battlearts event, Usuda decided to get a little hardcore himself. Part way through the match, Yamakawa grabs some loose barbed wire from under the ring and throws it into the squared circle. Before Yamakawa has a chance to do any damage to Usuda with it, however, Usuda takes the barbed wire and wraps the wiry mess around his kickpad. Usuda then proceeds to kick the living shit out of Yamakawa with it until his opponent is heavily scarred up.

Match of the Day - The one where Tajiri blinds Nidia with his mist

Jamie Noble vs. Tajiri - Smackdown! (2003)

As the title suggests, this is the match where Tajiri, the current Cruiserweight champ at the time, took on Jamie Noble in singles competition with his girlfriend and Tough Enough 1 winner, Nidia by his side. During the match, Tajiri looks to use his Cruiserweight title as a weapon on Noble, but as Nidia tries to intervene by grabbing the title away from Tajiri, Tajiri sprays her in the face with his Asian mist. According to legend,  the black mist, which was the mist used on Nidia in this sequence, is said to blind the recipient for weeks.

Eventually, Nidia would get her sight back, but would milk the incident for well over the time she could see again.

Match of the Day - Regal refuses to be squashed by Goldberg?

Steve Regal vs. Goldberg - Monday Nitro (1998)

Ah yes, the age old tale of Lord Steven Regal stiffing Goldberg in what was supposed to be a normal Monday Nitro Goldberg three minute squash match. The result: Regal's first release from WCW.

As it turns out though, the bookers actually told Regal to have a real rasslin match with Bill to show that the big green former football player could actually wrestle. Unfortunately, Goldberg was just not ready for such a match and the whole thing ended up looking like one big convoluted shoot fight. Goldberg looks surprised when Regal takes him down to his level because, well, he genuinely was. Regal, in the end, wasn't stiffing anybody but himself... 

As for Regal's first departure from WCW, that was all Regal's doing. Regal was having a lot of problems with drugs at the time and left the WCW to coupe with his "demons". After a short stint in WWF where he was given a hardhat and the moniker of a real man's man, Regal checked himself into rehab before one more WCW run.

Match of the Day - The Marty Garner Pedigree incident

Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Marty Garner - WWF Superstars (1996)

Everything was going well and dandy in this 1996 Hunter Hearst Helmsley match against a ham & egger named Marty Garner to promote Helmsley's match against Jake Roberts in the opening round for the King of the Ring tournament. That was until the "Conneticut Blueblood" delivered his trademark finisher still used on a part-time wrestling basis, the pedigree to put away poor Marty Garner. Garner being the inexperienced  rookie that he was mistook the pedigree as something else (like a double underhook suplex or powerbomb) and therefore jumped as if he was going to be lifted up and flipped over. The result: the deadliest looking pedigree of all time!

Marty Garner "fun" facts: He is good friends with Matt and Jeff Hardy as he got his start with them in their North Carolina wrestling promotion, OMEGA as "Cham Pain". He also wrestled as one of the Dupp Brothers in ECW as Puck Dupp and was The Rock's assistant in Walking Tall according to IMDB.
